As a school with international status and through our Opening Minds curriculum we look at international issues which our students can relate to. We are currently studying what life is like for young people living in slums in India. One of the aspects of life that we are looking at is education.
We have been approached by a charity which supports girls in Uganda who miss 25% of their education because they have no sanitary protection. We have agreed to support this charity and for £10.00 per girl they would be able to access all their secondary education.
Year 7 classes are all supporting fund raising events and our first one has been making and selling cakes and packaging sweet donations for Christmas gifts.
As always, we are delighted with the positive responses from our students who have wholeheartedly given their support.
