The community at Walton-le-Dale have come together to raise a lot of money for an excellent cause. It has been Languages Week so students designed and made cakes with an international theme and, along with copious donations from staff and families, the school has sold a huge amount of cake! Students had their chance to purchase cakes during an extended break this morning and then community residents and ex-members of staff were invited to a tea party this afternoon. The day finished with staff being invited to a well-deserved cup of tea or coffee and a cake as they finished their teaching at the end of the day.
Altogether it has been a wonderful day. Many thanks to the MFL department along with Mrs Shaw, Mrs Heywood-Connor and Mrs Armstrong for the organisation of today. We will let everyone know the final total raised once all the money has been counted!
