Image of Three Peaks 500 Mile Challenge in memory of Tim Hindle

Mr Hardman is very busy training for this challenge - just a few weeks to go!  He has written the information that follows explaining his motivation and outlining the schedule.  We all wish him the very best!

As an additional way to raise money for this excellent cause there is going to be "Kit Amnesty Week". Mr Hardman writes that "This will be the week commencing Monday 15th July and will run for one week. Students will be allowed to wear their own sports kit during this time during PE lessons. There will be a 50p charge with all money raised going to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity iMRI Scanner Appeal. Pupils are under no obligation to take part they will just wear their school kit as normal."

Three Peaks 500 Mile Challenge in memory of Tim Hindle

ROYAL MANCHESTER CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL CHARITY

iMRI SCANNER APPEAL

Sadly, Tim passed away at Manchester Children’s Hospital, Intensive Care Unit last September from an aggressive brain tumour, aged 13.  His illness was very sudden and shocked his friends, family and the school as a whole.  I wanted to do something to remember him, and hopefully raise some money towards the iMRI Scanner Appeal.  This will help purchase state-of-the-art equipment to help other families. One of his favourite songs was, "I would walk 500 Miles" by The Proclaimers.  I wondered how I could incorporate this into a charity event.  After much thought I have decided to climb the Three Peaks (Snowdon/Scafell Pike/Ben Nevis) and cycle in-between them, in seven days.

Tim loved life and was very active outdoors, and Tim said before he died “I’ve had a wonderful life haven’t I Mum!”
