"Walton-le-dale and Brownedge took part in a game of ferocity and quality that football is all about on Tuesday. In an early shock Brownedge took the lead through a well thought-out free kick and quickly doubled their lead soon after. This would not deter Walton who were looking for their second win of the school year. They pushed against the opposition until Logan M found a weakness, which he perfectly exploited releasing Richard R who calmly slotted home. Momentum well and truly shifted minutes later when Logan M again found Richard who sped past two before firing despairingly wide. This wouldn't stop Walton who continued to search for the equaliser, which would come from more robust forward work from Richard, showing heart and desire to beat all opponents to the ball and round the keeper to score. Just moments later Logan M lined up his now trademark 30-yard attempt which caressed through the air to hammer the underside of the crossbar, Brownedge would break and score from the counter at the end of the half. The second half began similarly to the first with Walton conceding early, but Richard would continue to torment the opposite defenders. Mathew N broke down the right-hand side and delivered a pinpoint cross for Calum to square for Richard to complete a heroic hat trick. Walton would leave nothing out on the turf, with substitute Jay W having a good chance saved before a wonder-goal for Browmedge would seal the game. A frenetic end to an incredible game ending 5-3 to Brownedge, averaging the fixture out to five-five over the year. A performance that defined everything this team is about in character, heart and passion capped off by a stupendous individual display from Richard R producing a performance that will go down in history."
