Image of An end to the Year 11s fantastic cup run!

Walton-le-Dale's fantastic cup run came to an end in a frenetic quarter final at Priory. An early goal for the hosts was followed by a spell of possession for Walton, but the chances were on the low side. A ball through the Walton defence brought debutant Noah SB into action to make a superb save. This would be followed by a string of fabulous saves and some exquisite defending from Calum E and Harry S to keep the score down. A defence splitting pass from Reece A bounced despairingly in front of Fin W. After a brief half time break Walton came out for the second half all guns blazing, desperately trying to find the equaliser. Logan M lined up an audacious 50 yard attempt that bamboozled the whole team and cannoned of the underside of the crossbar. Reece A would have a great chance just moments later walloping the ball 30 yards to be denied by a save from priory's keeper. Pushing for the equaliser, Walton were left vulnerable at the back, but they could not penetrate the superb defensive play and saves from Noah SB. A free kick would be Waltons last chance. Calum E sent a searching cross for the team to challenge, Reece A would flick it on but it wouldn't bounce for anyone in blue and the full time whistle went. A close game that could and should have provided much more and a superb cup run brought to an end.

Many thanks to Noah M for this report!  Well done lads....
