Team captain Noah Mills writes....
"Walton-Le-Dale took on Balshaws in a game of grit and determination from both sides. After an early save from stand in keeper Noah Mills, Balshaws took the lead from the resulting corner with a free header in the box. Walton wouldn't let their heads go down and led by new captain Logan Moir., bombarded Balshaws with Calum Eclestone having a shot cleared off the line. On the counter Balshaws made it 2. Despite this Walton put their hearts on the line to try and get back into the game. Calum Eclestone rattled the crossbar with a shot no keeper would stop, but no player in blue was there to tap home. Balshaws would score 2 more before the half. A change around in possitions and the second half began with Balshaws again scoring early. Following this came attack after attack from Walton, but the clinical finish missing. Mathew Neale darted down the right-hand side the ball broke for Richard Rimmicans to fire home and get Walton there deserved goal. The onslaught continued from the boys but no more goals would come despite brilliant work from Richard and Logan in the middle. A defensive header from Harry Sadler found its way into the top corner of his own goal with 10 minutes left on the clock. In the final 10 minutes Walton were again the makers of their own downfall conceding 3 more before the full time. A first half that could have gone very differently and a game to reflect on and forget."
Thanks for the report and well done to all involved!
