Walton-le-Dale's Year 11 football team took on Leyland St Mary's on Monday 10 October.  Team captain Noah Mills writes....

"A blistering start from Walton Le Dale brought chances that just couldn't be taken. After a few fine saves from our goalkeeper Chris Allen, Leyland took the lead. Surviving a scare recce ripped apart the Leyland defence with a 60 yard through ball which led to courageous Calum Eccleston being brought down in the box. With the pressure on, Shaun Carter delivered the first goal of the season from the spot. With the match in the balance Walton went for it but could not deliver the goods before the end of the half. Tactics given and substitutions made Walton went for the win but again just couldn't find the back of the net. A well struck freekick and a unfortunate defensive header from Walton le Dales centre back Finlay Wilson made the score 3 - 1 to Leyland St Marys. Putting their heart and soul into the cause to try and get a result the terrific warriors of Walton conceded 3 late goals before the end. Despite this the boys never gave in or gave up in character and spirit despite the score line. An end result to forget but a performance to be proud of and build on throughout the season to come."

Well done to the whole team!
