Image of WLD Virtual Primary Day!

For many years we have welcomed primary students to Walton-le-Dale to our wonderful, creative Primary Days.  The pandemic has stopped us having primary students on site, but we decided to go online and do what we can virtually!  On Friday (2nd July) we are inviting children from over 60 primary schools to join a day of lessons from Walton-le-Dale to see what life at secondary school is like.

Being online has some benefits - we can invite far more children and schools and we can give experience of a wider range of lessons.  All the primary school class needs to do is for their teacher to click on the link that they have been sent (and will be on our website on Friday morning) and display the lessons to their class.  It is entirely safe - we won't be able to see the primary school children, but they will be able to see us!  The timetable for the day is

8.50 Introduction to the day from Mr Harris, Headteacher
9.00 Humanities
9.30  French
10.00  Science
10.30  Maths
11.00  English
11.30  An insight into life in Year 7
12.00  Technology
12.30  Drama
13.00  Art
13.30  PE
14.00  Computing
14.30  Music
15.00  Conclusion - Mr Harris, Headteacher

Primary classes can drop in and out of the lessons as they wish and questions can be asked about the subject (or life at secondary school) via a secure question and answer system. All the sessions will be posted on our website after the event so can be accessed by individuals and classes whenever they wish.  If you would like to be involved on Friday and haven't received a link, please email Mrs Hodgson on l.hodgson@waltonledale.lancs.sch.uk

We have always thrived on being creative and interesting....!
