Image of Jewellery design by Year 10 Graphics students

Mr Cassidy writes "During this half term, Graphics students in Year 10 have been working on a real-life design brief. Their client was Melanie-Claire Whitehead, company director of The Old Electric, an arts and theatre organisation based in Blackpool. She said during a video conference call with the class this week that she was 'blown away by the professionalism of the students and of the products they produced.'

The brief challenged students to create a range of Perspex jewellery items to represent the theme of 'Wonderland.' Students showed their knowledge of the story 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' by Lewis Carroll through their innovative and playful designs. Students enjoyed designing the prototypes for their pieces which they will manufacture in the new year ready to sell directly to their client!

Although they haven't yet decided what to do with the money from the sale of their products, students have been thinking and discussing ideas about the exciting materials they might purchase for their next project, so watch this space!"

Well done Year 10!
