** Update Thursday 5th November **
The new national guidance for schools does not alter the guidance on face coverings for our school - "In schools where pupils in year 7 and above are educated, face coverings should be worn by adults and pupils when moving around the premises, outside of classrooms, such as in corridors and communal areas where social distancing cannot easily be maintained." We will continue to strongly encourage students to wear face coverings in these areas.
** Update Tuesday 20th October **
As announced on the weekly update for parents & carers on Sunday 18th October, the government guidance has changed for areas in Tier 3. It is now the case that "face coverings should be worn by adults (staff and visitors) and pupils when moving around indoors, such as in corridors and communal areas where social distancing is difficult to maintain" . As before they remain compulsory on all forms of school transport.

Good afternoon,
There has been an announcement from the Department for Education changing their guidance about face coverings in schools. You will find the summary online here and the full guidance here. As a result of this guidance, bearing in mind that we are a school with lots of outside space and only a small number of corridors, which can be managed to avoid congestion, we are changing our guidance on face covering to "we strongly advise that face coverings are worn when moving around inside the school buildings and may be worn at other times if individuals wish to do so". They remain compulsory on all forms of school transport.
Should the guidance from the local authority or from the government change we will, of course, update you swiftly.
