Poem for the NHS from 2 Year 7s

Two Year 7s, as part of their English study at home this week have created the following poem...

 

Thank You, NHS!

The NHS are saving lives

and at least one dies

because they are fighting for the community

also for their own immunity

we may be in isolation

but the Corona Virus is killing lives

so stay safe

in a safe place

this is a war

and the sorrow will beat us raw

everyday you might be staring at the front door

thinking

‘I want to see my mates again,

And make our own secret den.’

But the NHS are heroes

Fighting for others

While we do nothing at home

Sitting on our phone

Or getting our dogs to eat a bone

So stay home and stay safe

At your cosy place called home
