Morgan Drake, Zubeyda Farah and Alicia Bullock took first place in the Senior section of the Rotary Youth Speaks public speaking competition which was held here at Walton-le-Dale on Thursday 17th January. Zubeydah spoke highly articulately about the dangers of cultivating palm oil and our dependence upon it, and she was ably supported by Morgan and Alicia.
Charlotte Clayton, Alexa Burrow and Hannah Bethwaite also performed amazingly well, speaking about the issues around age and teenagers seeking to grow up too fast. Charlotte received the award for the best Chairperson and Hannah was commended for the best Vote of Thanks.
We are looking forward to the regional finals in Windermere in early February!
Well done everyone, including Mrs Cox and Miss Christian who worked so hard with the teams.
