On Friday 29th June the PE department took students from Yr7-9 to the South Ribble Athletics Championships held at Robin Park. It was a brilliant day with some fantastic performances, in particular Will Whiteside came 1st in Long Jump and broke the South Ribble record which was 5.36 with a jump of 5.41m. Will also managed to come 2nd in the 100m. Well done Will superb performance! Also a special mention for Reece Price also in Yr 9 who won the Triple jump with a jump of 10.24 beating his fellow competitors by nearly 1 metre.
The Year 8 girls had a really successful competition with Katie Smith achieving 3rd place in both the 200m and 800m. Kiera Anderson completing her events in 2nd place in the 300m and a fantastic 1st place in the 800m in a brilliant time of 2.46. Special mention to Isabelle Malyon who finished 3rd in Long Jump and Charlotte Malyon who finished 2nd in Shot.
