The warm weather seems set to continue and the students look very smart and identifiable in their PE kit, so we shall continue with this concession next week.
Students must have the school PE kit, however. Other shorts, leggings or t-shirts are not acceptable. I realise that these have been permitted in PE lessons when students don’t have their kit, but this is not acceptable as a form of school uniform. Students do not need to wear the full length socks, however. Trainers with the PE kit are acceptable, but crocs and sliders are not. I understand that many students only have one PE kit, if they wish to wear it every day then it needs to be washed overnight if necessary. The alternative is to wear school uniform without the blazer or tie. We have stock of PE kit should you wish to purchase any.
If you have any questions regarding school uniform please contact your Head of Year or Mrs Wall.
Earlier this week, a group of year 8 students attended a Cyber First trip to Manchester. Here is an account from Mr Turner and Miss Minton.
" A big well done to our Year 8 pupils who took part in a full day at a Cyberfirst - a government funded agency tasked with developing the nation's computing and cyber security skills. Pupils undertook a number of challenges in Manchester's MediaCity such as tracing suspects from data, examining the future of artificial intelligence and then testing out the latest immersive gaming technology. The centre said they some of the most polite and knowledgeable guests they'd ever had! Some will have opportunity to continue to study and then possibly work for the tech group in the future."
This week students have been learning about the dangers of open water swimming. Please click the link below for more details.
