Ethical Leadership in Education: At the governing body meeting this week we adopted the principles of Ethical Leadership in Education as a school. They seem to be self-evidently a very good idea and in keeping with our ethos as a school. Further information about the principles can be found here and should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at school.
Exams: The attitude of Year 8 to their exams this last couple of days has been excellent. Year 9 have some exams this week and then Year 11 mocks begin next Monday (2nd December). It is important that Year 8 and Year 9 have formal examination experience so that they get used to the very strict rules that govern GCSE examinations and they become "second nature" before they reach Year 11. Please would you remind everyone doing examinations that they must bring appropriate equipment (black pens, pencil, rubber, ruler).
Building work: The building work in D block was completed on Tuesday and there are a lot of office moves going on around school. The new area in D2 creates a centre for our pastoral work and our work with our students with special educational needs. It looks great and is rapidly becoming fully-functional as staff move into their new area.
INSET days: As always at this time of year, please be aware that school is closed on Thursday and Friday this week (28th and 29th November).
Please be aware of our regular "Career of the Week" and our "Form powerpoints" which are always worth having a look at. Please also keep an eye on the school calendar.
Have a good week.
