21 July 2023
We had two pieces of really good news this week.
Firstly, Walton Le Dale has been awarded the Inclusion Quality Award with Flagship Status. This is the highest award possible, awarded only to schools who can demonstrate that they continue to grow and develop their practice in conjunction with other like-minded schools. You can read about their assessment and findings here.
We have also been given confirmation that the DfE have agreed that Walton Le Dale will join Aspirational Futures Multi Academy Trust and we look forward to working closely with Parklands High School once more on our journey of relentless improvement.
Sadly, we do say some goodbyes to members of staff this year. Mrs Trainor, Mr Jeffries, Mr Bayley will be starting at new schools and Mrs Gallagher and Mr Lyons are starting new Leadership roles in other schools.
Earlier in July, we welcomed nearly 160 Year 6 students from many primary schools and we look forward to seeing them all again in their shiny new uniforms in September.
We also have several new staff starting in September and I will write to you again at the start of the year to introduce them and our new website.
We do not take the support from you as parents and carers for granted. I am fully aware that our school has lots of cogs and wheels that make it work and you are an essential part of that. Thank you for your continued support.
I would like to finish with a personal thank you to all the staff in school. As always, every single one has worked tirelessly for the good of all our students.
Summer will hopefully bring some rest and recuperation. I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed when we return in September.
