I would like to thank the Walton-Le-Dale community for being so welcoming and making my first week so enjoyable. I have been incredibly fortunate to be offered the opportunity to lead the school and Mr. Harris has been incredibly supportive in making the transition as smooth as possible.
It will no doubt be an emotional final week of term. Students will have an opportunity to say their final goodbyes to Mr. Harris with a farewell assembly at 11:35am on Friday. The students will then be dismissed so the staff can say their final farewells.

School Closure for the Easter Break - Please note that next Friday, 31st March school will close to students at 12:20 instead of the usual 3.05pm. The bus companies have also been notified so students will leave school at 12:20.
Bus service - Mrs Eckersley has secured 1 bus to Blackburn and 1 bus to Preston, this service will start on 17.04.2023.
· The Preston service will follow the usual route.
· The Blackburn service will follow the late bus Blackburn route.
· There will be no late buses.
· The cost of the bus pass will be £100 per month, per student.
· There is limited space available on the buses.
As this process has only just been finalised, further information will follow early next week.
Free School Meal Vouchers – The government has granted FSM vouchers for the Easter period; this allocation is £30 per eligible student for the 2 weeks (£15 per week). You will receive the vouchers via email on Friday 31st March 2023. Please ensure you check your junk and spam emails before contacting school, the emails are sent directly from Edenred.
Year 11
Easter Revision Sessions: As we approach the Easter break, please be aware that we are offering an Easter School for students in certain subjects. Please see the timetable below. Class teachers will discuss these sessions over the coming week.
· Students will be invited by teachers, where necessary. Students must confirm their attendance before the end of term with their class teachers.
· Students must sign in on arrival in main reception; they must also sign out when leaving.
· Students should bring their own food if required, as the kitchen will be closed.
