11 December 2022
As we enter the final week of this autumn term I would like to thank all parents and carers for your support of your child and the school over what has been a long and sometimes challenging term. Year 7 are tired (as are almost all our students), but have done exceptionally well. Year 11 complete their mocks this week and can then have a well-earned break. We fully appreciate that life is difficult for many families in our communities so it is a credit to everyone that we have continued to function well over the past months. Staff have worked very hard with all our students, seeking to enable them to make the best possible academic progress whilst being kind, caring and supportive - it is a difficult balance to get right and requires a very high level of skill and commitment.
Thank you to all parents and carers who responded to my comments about the importance of homework based on the need of all student to to work outside school hours in order to succeed - all comments are valuable as we seek to focus on homework and developing independent learning skills in the new term.
