1 November 2020
Good afternoon,
We are very much looking forward to seeing students back at the normal time tomorrow morning. A small number of students are self-isolating for a variety of reasons and it is important that they continue their learning by picking up lessons and resources from Teams. Please email ICTSupport@waltonledale.lancs.sch.uk with any technical issues.
Equipment and safety: Please ensure that your son or daughter has the usual equipment - a face covering, a pack of wipes, stationery and books, any food and drink required, a coat to be worn over their blazer (given the weather forecast) and correct school uniform. We all now know how the school operates under these pandemic conditions! We will be reminding everyone about the safety procedures at the start of tomorrow. As I said in my last update, face coverings should be worn in corridors and when gathering for lessons and we will strongly encourage students to do so. Students may wear face coverings at other times (for example in lessons) if they wish.
Reminder for Year 7 parents re nasal flu vaccine on 3rd December (from NHS): If you would like your child to receive the nasal flu vaccine in school please follow this link to complete an online consent form; https://www.nhsimms.uk/FLU/information?Id=119743&Type=FLU The vaccinations will take place at your child’s school on Thursday 3rd December 2020. The link will close on Thursday 26th November 2020. Please ensure your child has their face mask. If your child has already had the Nasal Flu vaccine since September 2020 please disregard this message. If you have any problems accessing the link please telephone 0333 358 3397, option 6.
Buses: Please remember that the 503 bus does not run and the 501 and 504 have amended routes. Please also be aware that there are no late buses from now until Christmas .
I am fully aware of the current situation with the rise in COVID cases locally and the announcement of national lockdown yesterday. All of us are working hard to ensure that all of our students receive the best education and support that we can provide under these challenging circumstances.
Best wishes to you and your families,
James Harris
