Good afternoon,
A longer update today....
Easter opening: Following discussions with Lancashire County Council and our Chair of Governors, school will be open for the small number of students (children of key workers and vulnerable young people) who need it over the Easter break. This includes being open on the two Bank Holidays (Good Friday and Easter Monday). If your child cannot be at home please make sure that Mrs Hodgson (l.hodgson@waltonledale.lancs.sch.uk) has a copy of your key worker identification and your shift patterns. The government guidance is that all children are safest at home.
Child Protection: The current situation poses a number of challenges for all schools when it comes to child protection. We have updated our policy to reflect this and in line with government guidance. The policy is on our website here.
Miss Shaw, our Family Support Worker, has an update about vulnerable residents:
This is how vulnerable Lancashire residents can get help during the coronavirus outbreak Councils across Lancashire have established their own "community hubs" to co-ordinate efforts to help those left struggling by the coronavirus pandemic. They can provide vital support such as food and medicine deliveries to residents who are particularly at risk from Covid-19 - and who are unable to rely on family or friends to keep them stocked up with basic supplies. People who are staying at home because of their age or medical condition - as well as those self-isolating with coronavirus symptoms - can all get help.

Mrs Eckersley, our Business Manager, has two updates about free school meals and bus passes:
Free school meal vouchers
For questions and queries relating to the free school meal voucher system please refer to the information at the following link:
https://www.edenred.co.uk/reward-recipients/Free-School-Meal-Vouchers/
Please check your junk and spam folders as it appears the emails have been going into these folders.
Bus pass standing orders
If at all possible can you keep the standing order running as normal. If you can't due to the current situation I completely understand. Any payments made since the school closed will be credited to your sons/daughters account.
Best wishes to you and your families,
James Harris
