Partial School Closure

Wednesday 18th March - Partial School Closure

Good evening.  

As I said in my update on Sunday, one of the reasons for school closure under these unprecedented conditions is staff shortage.  That is the case tomorrow and so I have had to take the decision to close the school to years 8 and 9.  The school will be open as usual for year groups 7. 10 and 11.  There will be no after school activities, "Period 6s" or detentions and no late buses.

We will, in good faith, attempt to provide work for year groups who are not in school - instructions and guidance are on our website at https://www.waltonledale.lancs.sch.uk/curriculum/coronavirus.  

I will send an update tomorrow afternoon once I know the staffing situation for the following day.    

These are difficult times for all of us so I wish you and all whom you care for, the best of health in the coming days.  Please keep an eye on the news and on the NHS information in order to get the best possible health advice for you and your family.
