Reflect on Your Practice:

Thank you!

Many thanks for your support in the recent Quality of Education review.  The report will be emailed out on Monday.  It has been an incredibly valuable experience for SLT, allowing for real dialogue with teachers and students about what happens in the classroom.  It is clear that we have an abundance of talent, passion, energy, creativity and expertise across our teaching staff.

Students were incredibly complimentary of their learning and seemed to appreciate discussing their work with others.

The report contains some suggested ‘next steps’ which are applicable to each of us.  Key messages from this report will be reinforced in due course.

In the meantime, please take the time to read the PowerPoint of exemplary feedback and work of which our students feel proud.

Our key objective, moving forward, should be to: ensure that practice is consistent within each department and that we are also in line with whole school policies (Basics, written feedback codes, etc).

Reciprocal Reading

Thanks to JGA who has filmed his Year 9s working with the Reciprocal Reading framework.  Please watch the video (you will need to click on it to download before viewing) and discuss how you could implement it in departments.  It is on Middle Leaders’ agenda this week.
