Good afternoon,

Some practical information and support today.  Though we are scattered by this virus we are still a close school community - our priorities are to support our young people through provision of materials so they can learn remotely, and through pastoral care, as best we can.  With that in mind a team of staff from school are ringing and messaging families and young people to check-in and offer support.  This goes alongside the work that every teacher is sending to each young person each day.

Miss Shaw, our Family Support Worker, says "For those of you who like a bit of structure in your lives; here's what various celebrities are offering you and your children for free daily to help while schools are closed:

9.00am - PE with Joe Wicks https://youtu.be/6v-a_dpwhro

Mrs Miller, who teaches Art and Textiles has sent information about a Kids Home Art Challenge being run by Pink Pig - details are in the image at the top of this post.

On a very practical note, Mrs Eckersley, our School Business Manager, asks if you could keep your child's bus payments running if at all possible so that we avoid having to set them up again once school reopens.  Should this be an issue or if you wish to discuss this further, please contact Mrs Eckersley on the main school number or by email s.eckersley@waltonledale.lancs.sch.uk

Mrs Wall says that Picture News are publishing virtual assemblies at this link www.vimeo.com/channels/picturenews and the current one contains some very useful advice about educating young people at home - well worth watching.

Best wishes to you and your families.
