Apprenticeships are a very important route to employment for many of our students and therefore we have started an "Apprenticeship of the Week" to go along with our established "Career of the Week" on the website here.  The apprenticeship is "Dental Nurse" for this week.

Positive start to the New Year: Many thanks to all parents and carers for helping to ensure that we have had a very positive start to the New Year.  I spoke to the students in all my assemblies about "unnecessary arguments" about things like phones and uniform.  All schools have rules so there is no point in arguing about them!  It just wastes everyone's time when we should be focused on teaching and learning.

There is no INSET day this Friday!  The student planners are printed early in the year and the calendar in them still shows an INSET day on Friday 17th Jan.  We then moved it to the end of the summer term and the calendar on the website has been correct for ages. We sent out messages last Friday to make sure that everyone knows that they need to be in school this Friday (17th).

Year 11 Parents' Evening is on Wednesday 22nd January - this is a really important event in the final preparation for examinations so please make every effort to attend.

We work closely with a range of local colleges - Runshaw are advertising adult education courses - you will find the flyer on our community page.

Have a very good week!
